The Councilors of the Socialist Party and the Socialist Movement for
Integration have made their unification official, and proposed Aldrin
Dalipi, the leader of the Socialist Councillors,  as head of the Tirana
Municipal Council.

This move comes one day after the request signed by the SP and SMI councillors for holding an urgent meeting of the Municipal Council, in order to discharge the current Chairman who comes from the Democratic Party, Njazi Kosovrasti.

Dalipi declared that this decision is not based on a political conflict, but just to legitimize the majority.

“They must give up from any provocation and understand that this is not a political conflict, but a civil reaction of the majority to legitimize the institutions in Tirana and Albania”, Dalipi declared.

The SMI leader for Tirana, Shezai Rrokaj, and the SP leader for Tirana, Saimir Tahiri, declared that this move guarantees the vote of the Albanian citizens.

“We have the necessary energy to guarantee the vote of the citizens. The vote will go where the citizens wanted it”, Rrokaj declared.

“The local administration was the last bunker built by Berisha. We are affirming our political will to be a majority in every local unit, and stop Berisha from sheltering his manipulators”, Tahiri declared.
