Dajti accuses court for delays

The First Instance Court of Serious Crimes has an average of six trials a
day, one of which is that of Dritan Dajti, which has almost turned into
a comedy.

The only solution remained to the Court of Serious Crimes is asking help to the High Council of Justice and the Ministry, but none of these institutions has answered.

In the 216th failed trial of Dritan Dajti, the defendant who is obliged to defend himself even legally, accused the Court of delaying his trial, and reminded the panel that they are paid by the end of the month for holding an effective trial.

It was impossible for the media to film the dialogue, since the court allows cameras only for a few minutes, probably for not filming the daily comedy that goes on with this process.

It is unknown why the Court of Serious Crimes continues with the same formula of summoning lawyers from a list, even though this method has been regularly failing for two years.

On the other hand, it is still unknown why the justice system is unable to start this process, so that they can collect the testimonies.

There’s a risk that Dajti’s trial will be used as a precendet for other defendants, such as that of Emiliano Shullazi at the Shkoder court.
