The second person in charge in the Serbian Government, Ivica Dacic declared that Serbia will not trade Kosovo for EU membership.
“Our stance is clear. There is the red line of national interests, which Serbia cannot cross”, Dacic declared.
Official Belgrade hopes that Brussels will not present as a condition Kosovo’s recognition in exchange of EU membership.
However, voices for such a condition have been more frequent recently, especially after the declaration of the German ambassador in Prishtina.
Well-known Balkan analysts say that if Serbia will enter EU without recognizing Kosovo independence, then it will set the condition “Kosovo in EU only as part of Serbia”.
