“The status of Kosovo is not part of the discussions between Prishtina
and Belgrade, but Serbia would be ready to discuss them, if that would
be possible”, declared the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, during
his visit in th Gracanica commune.
Answering to the questions of journalists for the inauguration of the northern communes without the state symbols of the Kosovo republic, Dacic declared that this happened because Serbia does not recognize the symbols.
The documents, according to the Prime Minister of Serbia, could be about symbols in general, but not those of the Kosovo state.
“Certainly, there’s a logic to hold the inauguration meetings without the symbols of Kosovo, since we don’t recognize them. Serbia becomes part of the dialogue for normalizing the relations, not to reinforce Kosovo’s independence. We don’t recognize Kosovo and we would like to discuss about all matters. The status could have been discussed, but it isn’t. These talks are neutral to the status of Kosovo. However, it is important for us that all documents have symbols of the generality of Kosovo, but not the state of Kosovo. What the Serbian representatives want to see is not having state symbols in these documents. This is the reason, and this should be resolved through compromise in Brussels”, Dacic declared.
One of the topics that journalists mention often to Dacic, is if Serbia will apologize for the crimes committed in Kosovo.
But the Serbian authorities do not seem ready to do this, 15 years after the war is over. The Prime Minister of Serbia declared that Serbs and Albanians too should answer in front of the law.
Besides the visits in monasteries, the Serbian politicians have started to complete their agenda when they visit Kosovo.
This time, the Prime Minister of Serbia participated in the premiere of the Serbian movie Montevideo, which is about the participation of the former Yugoslav team in the World Football Championship in 1930, in Uruguay.
The premiere of this movie in Gracanica was in fact the official reason for which Dacic visited Kosovo this Tuesday, and he was accompanied by a group of actors and the movie director.
