Customs “scans” energy too

The 15-year-old monopoly of the Customs scanning that was given to the
“Rapiscan” concessionary by the former government has produced another
absurd fact. Businesses that operate for importation and exportation of
energy will be forced to make the 22 EUR scanning payment.

But how can energy be scanned? Business representatives said for Top Channel that the annual revenues of the sector mount up to 200 million EUR, while the additional cost for a service they don’t receive from Rapiscan is 5000 EUR a year, much more than the value they really owe.

The most ridiculous fact is that they are forced to pay for a service that goes against the laws of physics. This absurd comes from the fact that the concessionary agreement does not foresee the cases that can be excluded from this payment.

Top Channel has secured a letter that the Association of Energy Suppliers sent to the Ministry of Finances, asking an interruption of this payment.
