The Commission of Economy passed the renegotiated agreement for scanning
containers in customs. Minister Shkelqim Cani said that the new
agreement will have a lower cost for businesses than with the previous
government.

“100-180 million EUR will be saved from the renegotiation of this agreement”, declared the Minister of Finances, Shkelqim Cani.

With the new agreement, the government has established a ceiling of the revenues of the concessionary company, with 210 million EUR for the next 15 years.

But how does this change the fees paid by businesses?

“There will not be a 39 EUR payment for every customs declaration, but only 22, or 43.6% less than with the first agreement, or 17 EUR less. For customs declarations lower than 1000 there will be only a 5 EUR payment”, Cani declared.

The government says the fee could be even lower.
