At the Kakavija crossing point towards Greece, there is an increased pace of citizens circulating on both sides of the border.
A month ago there were almost 800-900 people passing here, while now the number is almost double, the arrival sometimes exceeding the number of those who leave.
The greatest flow is recorded in the morning and in the evening hours as at noon the temperatures are very high, at over 37 degrees.
Buses circulating on both sides of the border are still few in number and travel with 1/4 of the passengers.
There are a small number of passengers being refused entry for reasons such as no justification of the reason for stay, lack of financial guarantee or residence address in the Greek state. At the same time we have an increase in random retesting for Covid 19 on the Greek side of the border, due to the growing sensitivity for the spread of the Delta variant there.
