Croatia supports Albania’s EU status

Croatia strongly supports the European Union candidate status for Albania.

This was declared by the Croatian Parliament Speaker, Josip Leko, who is visiting our country. During a joint press conference with his Albanian counterpart, Ilir Meta, Leko emphasized that cooperation between our countries is very important. He underlined that the countries of the Balkan region that have not joined the European Union yet, are on the right track.

The Albanian Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, declared that with Croatia’s EU accession, Albania has won a powerful ally.

Meta valued the contribution of Croatia in reinforcing the role of Kosovo in the region, and their contribution for the major project of the pipeline.

Croatia’s Parliament Speaker met with the opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, with whom he underlined tat the focus is on Albania’s and the other countries of the region EU membership. Croatia is the only country of Western Balkan that is part of the European Union.
