Crime mostly hits women

The blood feud missionaries report for mediators who present themselves as blood feud conciliators, but in fact they encourage conflict even more.

Representatives from the National Assembly of Reconciliation appealed the state structures for cooperation, since the blood feud murders have increased alarmingly, including women and children and going completely out of the tradition to which it refers to.

“The madness goes with the killing of this innocent girl.  10% of all murder victims that are women have been killed for jealousy, cheating and property issues. Women used to be considered as a clean and untouchable figure”, declared Preng Cara, vice chairman of the National Reconciliation Committee.

In the assembly meeting was mentioned the case of Maria, the 17-year-old girl that has turned into the symbol of the civil protest against blood feud and blood feud isolation.

But violence against women, despite the motives, has been increased and the recent data are really shocking.

In this meeting was discussed for the strategy of “Albania’s EU membership without blood feuds”, approved at the Congress of Reconciliation Missionaries and that will be presented to the Albanian and international institutions.
