Albanian Ministry of Health appealed today (16.02.2021) to the citizens to apply the rules for the prevention of COVID19, to put on the protective mask in any environment outside the house and to respect the self-isolation when they suspect that they are affected by Covid-19.
Regarding the situation of COVID19, in the last 24 hours, 3842 tests were performed which resulted in a positive 801 citizens.
Confirmed positive cases were identified in Tirana 479 cases, 100 cases in Durrës, 59 in Saranda, 18 in Shkodra, 16 cases in Fier and Elbasan, and smaller number of infections in other districts.
In the last 24 hours, 1058 citizens have recovered, while 558 patients are being treated in COVID hospitals in Tirana and in two regional hospitals, 38 of which are in intensive therapy.
Despite the efforts of the medical staff, 15 citizens lost the battle with COVID19: 5 citizens from Tirana, 3 citizens from Elbasan, 2 citizens from Fieri, 1 citizen from Berat, 1 citizen from Kavaja, 1 citizen from Korça, 1 citizen from Lushnja , 1 citizen from Malësia e Madhe, all aged 43-91. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased.
