The Ministry of Health and Social Protection appealed today (06.02.2021) to citizens not to lower their vigilance and continue to enforce anti-COVID rules.
The authorities on Saturday said that 4539 tests were performed, out of which 1130 citizens tested positive. 535 cases were identified in the capital Tirana, 82 in Elbasan, 59 in Kurbin, 46 in Durrës, 35 cases in Fier and as many in Vlora, as well as lesser numbers in other districts.
In the last 24 hours, 656 citizens have been cured, while 431 patients with Covid are being treated in hospitals, 25 of them in intensive care.
Despite the efforts of the medical staff, 13 citizens lost the battle with COVID19 in the COVID hospitals; 6 citizens from Tirana, 1 citizen from Korça, 1 citizen from Lezha, 1 citizen from Mirdita, 1 citizen from Klosi, 1 citizen from Mati, 1 citizen from Delvina, 1 citizen from Kruja, all aged 28-80 years.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased and addresses the citizens not to neglect any signs of illness and to contact in any doubt with the family doctor to perform testing and follow-up and outpatient treatment at home.
