The Ministry of Health and Social Protection appealed today (01.02.2021) to the citizens not to reduce their vigilance and to continue to apply the anti-COVID rules by placing the protective mask in any environment outside the home; avoiding gatherings and maintaining physical distancing.
The authorities said that 2960 coronavirus tests were performed, out of which 865 citizens resulted positive. 421 cases were confirmed in Tirana, 55 in Fier, 39 in Lushnje, 35 in Durrës, and fewer in other districts of the country.
In the last 24 hours, 498 citizens have recovered, while in 4 COVID hospitals, 365 patients are being treated, 25 of them in intensive therapy. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, 13 citizens lost the battle with COVID19 in hospitals, of which 9 citizens from Tirana, 1 citizen from Mati, 1 citizen from Kavaja, 1 citizen from Lushnja, 1 citizen from Vlora, all aged 60-80 years.
The Ministry of Health expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased and addresses the citizens not to neglect any signs of illness and contact for any doubt with the family doctor, to perform testing or follow-up and treatment at home.
