The first day of teaching for some students started in front of the Ministry of Education protesting against the decision of the technical committee of experts for online learning in the first month. They required the return to the auditorium.
“Delayed decision. Two-standards decision, at a time when everything is open but only universities are closed. Without free internet packages for students or refund for tuition fees. Unfair,” said one protester.
Joshua and Elia Fiori are two Italian brothers who are pursuing higher education in Albania and have joined the protest. Elia, who is in his first year at the Academy of Arts, has a harder time than Joshua, who is completing his master’s degree in veterinary medicine this year.
“We could have returned to Italy if the decision had been made earlier. Now we have paid the rent. Learning online is not possible, this is a mess.”
As they removed the masks and placed them on the walls of the ministry of education today’s protest was closed with chants “You are the virus” and “The students will not submit”. They stated that they would boycott the virtual lesson and would come back again to protest the next day.
