The Court of First Instance has rejected the lawsuit of former Minister
of Culture, Ylli Pango, who wanted Top Channel to compensate him with
one million Euros, after the channel’s investigative program, “Fiks
Fare”, showed a video in which the former Minister was seen asking
sexual favors from a girl who was looking for a job.
The verdict was given by Judge Arben Mullaj and two members, Arben Konstandini and Ardian Kalija.
The same case was judged three years ago by Agim Bendo, who favored the protagonist of this sexual scandal, former Minister Ylli Pango. Judge Agim Bendo decided that the investigative show should be fined with 400.000 EUR.
Bendo considered the video as a violation of privacy, while the images clearly showed the Minister pressuring a young woman who had to meet him at his house for getting a job. In this meeting he was recorded asking her for sexual favors.
The verdict for the 400.000 fine was challenged by the Court of Appeal. The Supreme Court came out with the same verdict as the Court of Appeal, which returned the case at the Court of First Instance, with a new judge panel made of three members who rejected Pango’s claims.
