Court ruled National Guard is responsible also for suicided son of protester killed on January 21st

On January 21st, 2011, four unarmed demonstrators were shot dead by the
National Guard, in front of Prime Minister Berisha’s Office. The one of
one of those victims committed suicide months later.

For this reason, Judge Silvi Gjoncaj has found the National Guard responsible for his death too.

The government has granted 1.2 million USD for the families of four victims. Their lawyer says the National Guard will now have to compensate the fifth victim too.
