Court orders CEZ to stop cutting power supply

After the court ordered CEZ to not cut the energy, the company announced
that they have started to return the power to all aqueducts.

Tirana Court accepted the request made by the state’s advocate to stop the power cuts against any public authority, until a final legal agreement will be reached between CEZ and the aqueducts.

According to the Ministry of the Economy, if CEZ will violate this decision, they will be penalized with 100 million ALL for every hour of interrupted power.

On the other hand, CEZ says that this company has acted and will continue to act in full accordance with the law.

According to them, CEZ is facing another expropriation act.

CEZ will use all its rights to appeal the decision to the international courts.

The Ministry says that CEZ is allowed to appeal the decision within five days.

CEZ: Don’t put obstacles to us

CEZ reiterated the appeal to the authorities to allow their employees to continue their job.

Jaroslav Macek, the General Director of “CEZ Albania” declared: “We appeal the police employees to stop any procedure started against the CEZ employees, which are biased and against the law. CEZ will take all legal measures against the state police employees who have acted against their mission”.

Through a press release, Macek says that the company leaders have guaranteed their employees that they will have full legal support from CEZ. “I will guarantee the employees that have respected the laws and the orders of the contract that we have with the Albanian citizens, that our company will support them maximally, legally and morally. I appeal the police effectives and their civil awareness to only implement the laws”, declared Admirim Lakra.

The Chairman of the Confederation of Unions, Kol Nikollaj, appealed the police to release the CEZ Employees.
