Court leaves in effect sentence for Lazarat group, after killing of RENEA officer

The Court of Appeals for Serious Crimes has left in effect the verdict of the Court of First Instance for the group of men who fired and killed a police officer, and for attempting the killing of two others.

The Court left in effect 147 years of prison for the 11 persons involved in the killing of RENEA agent Ibrahim Basha.

But the verdict was declared without the presence of cameramen. They relatives, after hearing the verdict, started throwing chairs against the court members, cursing them, and continuing the attack with journalists.

The relatives attacked several journalists and cameramen at the Court entrance. The intervention of the police was delayed.

Their lawyer, Ruhan Hiraj, spoke for the cameras and insisted that the person who killed Ibrahim Basha is still free.
