Court defends “Meta” scientific experts

 The Prosecutor declared that none of the experts had specific knowledge for the subject they summoned.

“In Albania there are no experts with proper knowledge, as the law requires, besides the expert Dritan Zoto, disqualified earlier by the court due to an interview he had released for the ‘Shqip’ newspaper”.

But who are the three experts that will have in their hands the fate of the Former Deputy Prime Minister Ilir Meta, who is accused of corruption?

The documents that Top-Channel was able to secure through confidential channels show that none of them is licensed for the specific duty for which they are being summoned – verifying the authenticity of a digital video registration. The 30 year old Ermal Beqiri, graduated in informative systems for the University Administration has written in his CV that besides the experience as a lector in a private faculty, he has also worked in marketing and negotiations with clients; he has worked for installing electronic gates and alarms. In his CV there is even a job as a waiter in the University Restaurant.

He is currently IT director for the Tirana University Rectorate, while he has been graduated in France as Superior Technician. The other expert, Artur Rrahmani is graduated in the University of the Interior Ministry, for Security. He also has a law degree and a lawyer license. He has written in his CV that he has worked in the Polican Mechanic Plant as operative officer for the safety of the military industry. After an experience as assistant lawyer, Rrahmani explains in his CV that he is currently inspector for banknotes authenticity and director of the Scientific Center for Individual Protection. Rrahmani has made a three-day course for scientific voice identification, a course that has been disputed by the Court and the Prosecution. This is due to a correspondence that Prosecutor Bujar Sheshi had with the center that has certified Rrahmani. They declared that he can be considered an expert only after passing a test that is made every five years, not only with a three-day course.

The third expert, Adrian Pollo, graduated for electronics at the Tirana University, has conducted autodidact studies for computer software. He writes in his CV that for five years he has been self-employed for software installation.

The result of these experts will be definitive for the fate of Ilir Meta trial.
