The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe approved the June
23rd election report in Albania, which were considered competitive
during the debate, with a large participation and with respected human
rights.
The report considers the elections as positive, while the Head of the Albanian Parliament Delegation, Valentina Leskaj, who is also a member of the European Integration Commission at the Albanian Parliament, thanked the Council of Europe for the constant support to Albania in the path for fulfilling the democratic processes.
According to Mrs.Leskaj, the debate was a positive climate and supportive of the European future of Albania. She added that she expressed the determination of the new majority to advance with the European agenda and fulfilling the 12 priorities not only on paper.
Part of this debate was the functionality of the Parliamentary democracy, in which the Albanian delegation expressed the majority’s readiness to the opposition all the necessary space needed for its important role in the integration process.
