Over 1 million calls have been registered to the emergency number 112 including reports to the “Digital Commissariat”, at a time when the country is fighting against the pandemic of COVID-19, according to Top Channel’s Anila Hoxha sources.
The head of the digital commissariat Klodian Bilushi, told the journalist that during the period of CoVid-19 the calls received are categorized as follows:
• Calls on issues related to conflicts or disagreements
• Calls about noise or disturbances from the neighbor
• Reports for persons who have left without authorization or for gatherings of people.
A very large influx of phone calls ask help for the movement of people with health problems in getting to hospitals, such as pregnant women or others with health issues.
Bilushi reminded that due to the large influx of calls, citizens will have to wait in line in order to connect with the operators of 112, and not to hang up the phone when they hear the voicemail of 112.
He added that 2,500 administrative measures have been taken, including revoking driving licenses for people traveling without an emergency, for pedestrians or cyclists outside the permitted time bands.
