Albanian Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu inspected today the measures taken to prevent and control the COVID-19 coronavirus in the Port of Durres, stating that further vigilance is required at border crossings.
“It is very important not only to carry out body temperature monitoring but also to fill out the personal files of travelers coming from countries with community outbreaks of the epidemic. This provides the opportunity for the cases to be followed up by epidemiologists if needed. If there are any suspicious symptoms, the 127 Center number is called, which coordinates all cases”, stated Manastirliu during the inspection in the port of Durrës.
The minister emphasized the importance of real-time information processing and increased alertness. “We must continue to take action in this situation, even increasing the alertness, which is very important at this time for the verification of all passengers and their profile listing into this system we have created”, stated Manastirliu.
Following up the measures already taken, the National Emergency Service has placed dedicated ambulances at border crossings and there’s been an increase of specific personal protective equipment for all service segments, from border crossings, to hospital health facilities.
