The cooperation between the Constitutional Court of Kosovo and the Supreme Court of Albania has been deepened.

An Albanian delegation led by the President of the Albanian Supreme Court, Xhezair Zaganjori, visited the Constitutional Court of Kosovo this Tuesday. The Albanian delegation was received by the President of the Kosovo Constitutional Court, Enver Hasani. The aim of this visit was an introduction with the work and personnel of the court, for further cooperation.

“Our mutual is to keep developing this cooperation, because we have always kept contacts, mainly with the Supreme Court. We contacted with them this Sunday and Monday, and we had joint consultations that aimed two directions. The first is a closer approach, a personal acquaintance, and also the discussion of some matters of mutual interest, because the Supreme Court is on the top of the rule of law pyramid”, Zaganjori declared.

“Let’s face now the transition period, because next year we will have one less judge, plus the presence of the internationals, which, according to the rule, is not for the mandate, because the mandate is the same with what we have. It is about how the transition will be overcome without having the court blocked, because there could be other judicial challenges”, Hasani declared.

Currently, the Constitutional Court of Kosovo has cooperated with all the courts of the region, except for the Serbian one. The Constitutional Court of Kosovo is made of six local judges, four of them Albanians, one Serbian, one Turkish and three internationals.
