Residents of a neighborhood in the village of Pirrë, in Lushnja in central Albania, have complained that the demolition of the walls and fences of the houses on the side of the new road were done in a selective manner.

According to them, at first it was said that the road will be 7 meters wide, so the residents signed that the surrounding walls of their houses be demolished, but in fact some were tolerated even though the road to their houses is not as wide as others.

And it is precisely the house of the village head and a municipality worker whose enclosures have not been affected.

One of the residents says that they destroyed the surrounding walls, while those with political connections did not.

The village head denies to the journalists that he influenced for the fence of his apartment not to be destroyed, he even says that he asked to see the project, but no one showed him.

The administrator of the Bubullimë Administrative Unit, Artan Mina, says that the road is being built by the Lushnjë Municipality, but he does not know how much is the investment, and the works have been interrupted due to some ‘technical problems’ on the road, and it will restart and the objects planned will be demolished.

Fiks Fare journalists did not receive an answer from the municipality about the selective demolition suggestions of residential fences, nor a deadline for when the works will resume.
