The institution of Statistics reported that the value of construction
permits that were given during the first trimester of this year has
increased three fold, compared to the same period of one year ago, from
3.9 billion to 11 billion.
Data show that the private construction sector is showing signs of revival, after it was his by a crisis and by the moratorium. The value of approved projects has increased, especially during the second semester of the past year.
According to INSTAT, during the January-March period only, authorities have approved 101 new construction permits. Most of them, 75%, are residential. 25% are commercial.
Half of the permits were issued in Tirana, second comes Vlora with 15.6%. Construction was one of the sectors mostly hit by the economic crisis, not only due to lower public investments in infrastructure, but also after a significant drop of demand in the house market.
