The Constitutional Court Judges will decide on the Vetting Law more than
two months after it was challenged for its constitutionality.
All judges received a copy of the Venice Commission opinion today, and the will gather on December 22nd for a final verdict.
The Vetting law has been suspended in the mean time, while the opposition and the Union of Judges want to repeal it.
The decision of the Constitutional Court, after the Vetting law passed in Parliament with 88 votes in favor, without the presence of the opposition, will give green light for starting the EU accession negotiations.
A few days ago, the EU ambassador, Romana Vlahutin, said on Top Story that if the Constitutional Court would reject the Vetting Law, Albania’s integration would be delayed. As for the international community, the Vetting Law is unnegotiable.
