The Constitutional Court has taken another important decision in favor
of the Democratic Party by accepting their complaint against the a
decision taken by the Parliament. The decision voted by the majority
rejects the opposition’s request for creating a Parliamentary Commission
which should investigate the procedures of the tax confidential data.
The majority declared that the request of the Democratic Party was anti-constitutional, with the argument that the case was already being investigated by the Prosecution.
But this decision of the majority was found anti-constitutional by the Constitutional Court. The explanatory arguments have not published yet, but an official announcement says that the verdict for considering the Parliament’s decision anti-constitutional is unanimous.
The Democratic Party was very pleased with this decision taken by the Constitutional Court, since they believe that the government has illegally copied confidential tax information in order to blackmail some businesses and for favoring others.
“Edi Rama and Ilir Meta, terrorized by this scandal, ordered the Parliament to use their voting power to stop the investigation. This decision is another lesson for the government that the democratic governing, Constitution and the Law are the only basis and limit of their activity, regardless of the number of votes in Parliament”, declared the Vice Chairman of the Commission of Laws, Oerd Bylykbashi.
The Democratic Party will take another step by challenging the majority for the implementation of the Constitutional Court decision.
“As soon as the Constitutional Court decision enters in effect, we will present a new request for creating an investigative commission and for analyzing this scandal in details, conform the Constitution, in order to stop the anti-constitutional arrogance and bring to justice those who ordered this scandal”, Bylykbashi declared.
