22/11/2016 00:00

The Constitutional Court has left in power the suspension of the Vetting
Law, rejecting this way the request presented by MP Pandeli Majkofor
removing the suspension. In the meantime, they have started reviewing
the request of the Democratic Party and the Union of Judges to repeal
the law.

The opposition and judges claim that the law goes against the Constitution. Majko said that the Court has not made it public yet why the law was suspended.

The Union of Judges requested for the suspension to be kept, and said that the law puts in risk the jobs of many judges and prosecutors.

Present in the room were opposition representatives and also the US Ambassador, Donald Lu.
