Enkelekd Alibeaj called today’s decision of KAS commission to accept the registration of the Democratic Party led by him in the elections, as a “confirmation of a legal obligation”.
However, he called the decision ‘delayed’ and did not spare with criticism CEC head Ilirjan Celibashi, who two days ago took the decision to refuse the party the registration for the May elections.
Alibeaj said: “Today’s decision of the KAS is confirmation of the legal obligation to register DP in the local elections of May 14.
“The delay of almost two weeks for this process, by the chief commissioner Celibashi, is a harm to the democrats and the Albanians, done by the extensions of the old politics present in today constitutional institutions.
“On this occasion, we once again invite all democratic candidates, without any distinction, to unite and present themselves united in the local elections”, said Alibeaj.
“Let’s put aside grudges and disagreements and let’s do the best we can in face of the Edi Rama’s regime”, he added.
The Complaints and Sanctions Commission today overturned the decision of the head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, for the Democratic Party, paving the way for its registration in the elections.
“The DP should bring the declarations with the signature of Alibeaj, so as to register with the mandated chairman Enkelejd Alibeaj”, announced KAS member Koli Bele, while earlier the rejection had as an argument the lack of the resignation signature by former chairman Lulzim Basha.
