Competition in the death business

Funeral services turn into good businesses when accidents, murders and
natural deaths raise. This has made competition even harsher.

Many see patients that are sent to hospital as a possible prey. Men working for these people lurk around hospitals looking for the next victim.

They have created ties with nurses, mainly through SMS messages, who provide information in exchange of some compensation.

Sources from Top Channel explain that the Tirana University Hospital Center has taken measures to stop this phenomenon, making it obligatory for dead patients to go through morgue before the family retrieves their bodies.

Patient transportation is made by Hospital personnel. This is the time when families received offers from these people, who often even fight with each other for a client.

Competition went as far as an explosive charge was placed under a funeral bus by a rival, which thankfully caused only material damage.

However, the 28-year-old arrested by police confessed the crime but said he did it because the bus owner had often offended his father, a former Secret Service employee who was wounded in duty.

Erion Ducka was arrested a few minutes after placing the explosive and he even resisted arrest.
