The Democratic Party leadership gathered this Thursday to discuss the
process that will elect the new Democratic Party leader, since the
application deadline ends today at midnight.
“Let’s avoid the mantel of one political force on power. We must work to turn into the most powerful opposition. We have the biggest potential to become the moral administration of this country”, declared the resigned leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.
Berisha added that the competition is the most important event for the Democratic Party.
“No one should use his power in the process for electing the new leader. I trust that the Democratic Party leadership will hold the most civilized process, and we will elect the leader that will continue with our cause. So far there have been four official candidacies. Lulzim Basha, Sokol Olldashi, Astrit Sinanaj and Sokol Paja”, Berisha declared.
The Democratic Party leadership worked behind closed doors, while it is reported that the new leader will be elected within July, although the date has not been set yet.
