The Socialist Party organized a conversation with representatives of the
old Tirana families and introduced them to the alternative offered by
this political force about some very sharp issues of our capital, such
as the legalization of buildings and compensation of former owners.
“The citizens of Tirana have always given and never taken. Our basic problems are the legalization of those who have arrived, and the compensation of those who have their properties there. We should start with physical compensation. The Albanian state should never give any centimeter of land with a 1 EUR price without a physical compensation. And if there will be physical compensation, it should start with those who have given more… the Tirana citizens”, Pandeli Majko declared.
The meeting was greeted by Mrs.Linda Basha, wife of the opposition leader, who comes from one of the most renowned Tirana families.
“All old Tirana families, and other citizens who have arrived in Tirana much earlier, today feel disappointed for not takign their properties, and feeling each day a foreign in their own city. It is very simple. Using your vote to not become part with the evil that has entered our state and the entire society. It is time to vote for Tirana, for our children who need to inherit a better place, and for Albania that has its eyes on Tirana”, Basha declared.
Edi Rama declared that the choice that the Tirana citizens should to is not related with his elections, or the elections or those who are with him as part of the Revival team, but it is a choice that something more than just choosing from two different persons.
“There are moments in the history of a country when the elections are more than elections between parties, and this is that moment. The elections of 1992 were not elections between parties, but elections between the past and the future. Today we don’t have elections between two parties or two people. The choice today is between the further ruin and the revival of everyone”, Rama declared.
