Johannes Hahn, the EU commissioner for Neighboring and Accession
Negotiations, started his visit to Tirana through the National Museum to
learn more about our country. Then he walked in Tirana’s main square
and to the Et’Hem Beu mosque, where he spoke with Mufti Ylli Guri.

The first impressions of the Commissioner for Tirana: “It looks wonderful. I was here two years ago and I can see the changes from what it was six or seven years ago. The City has developed and is now an important European city”, Hahn declared.

Top Channel asked the Commissioner if he was concerned by the political climate that he was finding in Tirana.

“I will have many chances to discuss about things. There is tension, of course, but we hope that everyone will be determined. A constructive climate is one of the conditions for Albania’s EU path”, Hahn declared.

The EU will evaluate the progress of Albania in fulfilling the five priorities. Top Channel has learned that the Albania-EU high-level meeting format has also changed.

There will be no replies from the representatives of the opposition, after the speech of Prime Minister Rama and the Minister of Integration, Klajda Gjosha, in order to use the time with more efficiency.

Tirana and Brussels seem to have agreed that only Majlinda Bregu, the chairwoman of the Parliamentary Commission for Integration, will be the one speaking for the opposition.
