The Parliament Members of the Commission of Productive Activities
rejected the President’s decree that returned the draft-law of tourism.

The Minister of Economic Development, referring to the President’s argument, said that this draft-law excludes only projects for the promotion of Albania abroad.

“For a long time we have been unable to realize it, but the procurement law did not allow us to make the promotion of Albania in several TV stations in the Czech Republic, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Germany, France. It is impossible”, Minister Ahmetaj declared.

“Is the procurement law an obstacle for investors? In this case, the state entity? Of course. It is something bad, but necessary. Why hasn’t changed the procurement law? They say there is an exclusion for tourism and these projects”, answered the DP member of the Commission, Genc Ruli.

The President’s argument stated that the new law damages the decentralization of the local government when it transfers local government assets from tourism priority areas to the central government and legal security, when it doesn’t define the conditions for making state owned assets available to investors for 99 years, with a symbolic agreement of 1 Euro.
