The Chairwoman of the Commission of Laws, Vasilika Hysi, accused judges
and prosecutors of making it difficult for the implementation of the
judiciary reform.
“When we received the package of constitutional amends for the judiciary reform, its articles and laws seemed good, but later we understood there is a lot of resistance. Many honest judges and prosecutors welcome the changes, but they don’t have the courage to come out openly and tell us what are the laws they need. The rest of judges and prosecutors are running in all directions, trying to create difficulties for the implementation of this reform”, said Hysi.
“The Constitutional Court verdict for changing some articles or declaring some others as anti-constitutional has put us in difficulties, since we cannot understand what they meant and what should be done, and we are unable to draft the amends that are needed. We don’t know what we should add”, Hysi said.
The Ombudsman said that the judiciary reform is very delicate, that’s why he appealed the political class to find the necessary will for completing the reform.
High-level experts from the Magistrate School and Law School discussed the role and functionality of the new institutions of the judiciary.
