Commission for investigating new recruits

Even this Thursday, the Parliament has been involve din harsh debates
between the majority and the opposition, focusing on the opposition’s
request to create a Parliamentary commission for investigating the new
recruits of the public administration.

The majority accepted to create the commission requested by the opposition, but with one condition: “We agree with the creation of the commission, but it should start investigating since 2009. If we agree, we are ready to vote it now”, declared the Head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Gramoz Ruci.

But the opposition refused the proposition of the majority and considered it absurd.

“There is no sense creating a commission with our request and that investigates for you. If the majority has the good will to discuss this, let’s discuss, but we cannot change the period of the investigation. You cannot decide the object. If you want to investigate for that period, no one stops you from doing it and we will be part of that commission. If you want to discuss the deadline that we have demanded to approve, let’s approve it. If not, let’s sti and discuss for another week”, declared the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group leader, Edi Paloka.

The Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, invited both parties to sit and find common ground until the next week.

Parliament, debate for new police recruits
DP: Prosecution must investigate. SP: Police is establishing legality

The majority and opposition read the different reports of the Investigative Parliamentary Commission for the new recruits at the State Police.

The Democratic Party Parliament Member, Arben Ristani, declared that the Prosecution must start the investigations for the new recruits in the police. But the Socialist Party Parliament Member, Taulant Balla, declared that the police results have improved and it has returned on the path of legality during these months.

“The Commission recommends to the Prosecution to investigate the Police directors who have violated laws by changing the staff, by causing damage to the state budget and to the public security. The Prosecution’s investigation must be based on the investigation of our Commission”, Ristani declared.

“From January to April, the Police has seized 3 tons of marijuana more than in the last 10 months of the past government. The data show that the police response to crime and traffics has increased. This makes the opposition’s critics untrue. We must thank every police officer that has been involved in the fight against organized crime and any other type of crime”, he declared.
