College starts distributing mandates

The Electoral College accepted the request of the Socialist Party and started distributing the mandates for 12 districts.

The legal representative of the Democratic Party, Ivi Kaso, reported what he considered “illegal pressure” of the Socialist Party against the Electoral College.

“I felt sorry for the fact that the college, facing an illegal pressure of the Socialist Party, with an illegal case that was not submitted on the right time, chose to give up to this illegal pressure”, Kaso declared.

He said that the College has taken two anti-constitutional acts by violating the Central Election Commission’s authority under the pressure of the new majority.

“We expressed our claims that this prcedure is anti-constitutional for the fact that it reduces the competences of the College to act according to the law. Today we noted an usurpation of the College competences by the Socialist Party, and the College gave the final blow to CEC with this action”, Kaso declared.

The representative of the Socialist Party, Koli Bele, declared that the Democratic Party’s claims for political pressure towards the college are absurd.

The claims of the Democratic Party for political pressure are illegal. The College is completing the process according to the law. The Democratic Party just cannot accept the deep loss. Today was distributed what the voters chose on the elections”, Bele declared.

After the mandates were distributed by the Electoral College, the center left Alliance for European Albania officialized its 83 mandates, while the right centered Alliance for Employment, Welfare and Integration will be represented in this Parliament with 57 Parliament Members.
