The polar cold has started to recede this Wednesday, after Albania faced several days with unusually low temperatures.
The temperature has now risen by three degrees Celsius and the country is dominated by alternating weather features.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, there were no problems with water supply, nor in the country’s ports and airports.
There were also no serious problems on the road axes.
The road axes where snow chains are required are Bokë-Theth and Librazhd-Stebleva, where temperatures have dropped to -20 and -12 degrees Celsius, respectively.
During the night, five defects in the electricity network were reported, affecting 5 thousand subscribers.
The decrease in temperatures has increased by 50% the load on the electricity network mainly in the central parts of the country.
On Monday, the northernmost tip of Albania, Vermoshi, set a record low of -23 degrees C, while in other mountainous areas the thermometer marked -17 degrees C.
