The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities at the Council of Europe, has decided to not bring the observers for the elections in Albania, for security reasons.
This decision has been filed to the office of the European of Europe to Tirana. The argument of the council for this action is the lack of security that has been created with these elections in some areas.
Besides the 150 short-term observers of the OSCE-ODIHR, the June 30th elections will be monitored by special groups created from Western Embassies accredited in Tirana.
Sources from the Central Election Commission said for Top Channel that the British Embassy ahs accredited eight diplomats.
The US Embassy is expected to publish their list this Thursday.
The British Ambassador who is leading the OSCE observing mission, Oldry Glover, met with the Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, who didn’t give any detail about this meeting.
