The Albanian Coalition for Family and Life organized the March for Life today on June 1, at 10:30 a.m. in “Skënderbej” square in Tirana, in protest against a law that legalizes surrogacy in Albania.
Present were parents with their children, grandparents, youngsters, leaders of the Albanian Coalition for Family and Life, as well as friends from outside the borders of Albania, who marched peacefully from “Skënderbej Square” to “Mother Teresa” Square in defense of the family. and celebration of life.
The event continued with the signing of the “Manifesto of Life” Petition, which aims to send to the Parliament the request for the cancellation of the Draft Law on Surrogacy, the Abortion for 16-year-old girls without the parents’ knowledge, the Sterilization of young people, 18-year-old girls and 23-year-old boys, as a measure of family planning.
The Ministry of Health drafted the draft law “On sexual and reproductive health” which aims to guarantee the sexual and reproductive rights of individuals. The draft law is aimed at legal regulation of assisted medical reproduction techniques and termination of pregnancy, including births by surrogacy.
“I am Italian who has been living in Albania for 6 years. I came to this march today because I believe in family and life. We are in favor of the family with the mother and the father and not with the parent 1 and parent 2”, said a protester at the rally.
“We try hard to keep the family together, so I signed the petition. I believe in the traditional family and in the protection that we must give to children without sparing”, added another participant of the event.
“This is an anti-God, anti-man, anti-fertility law.”
“There are surrogate mothers who live in apartments in Albania as this is done illegally, they now seek to legalize it. This law is for pure business with children and turns Albania into a land of human trafficking”, said another protester for Top Channel.
