The weather anomalies that we are facing these months will be
more frequent in many areas of the country in the next years.
Recent studies show that average annual temperatures will increase with 3 degrees Celsius until 2100, and 5 degrees during summer.
The sea level will increase with 100 cm and many lagoons are expected to disappear. The drought will be longer and rain precipitation levels will fall with 18%.
“The climate in our country will change with frequent extreme weather events, such as droughts, floods and sea storms. All of them affect the country’s economy. The weather extremities will be more frequent and what negatively affects the economic development is not the gradual change of the rain and temperature regime, but these extreme events”, declared the manager of the Climate Adoption project, Prof. Dr. Eglantina Bruci.
Experts specify that if no measures will be taken with serious investments mounting up to millions of EUR in the coastline and agricultural lands, the residents will face a large economic crisis.
The increased temperatures and the fewer rainfalls will cause the production of dangerous insects that could spread more diseases.
