Five controllers were suspended at the Mother Teresa Airport, Tirana, and will be prosecuted for favoring clandestine traffic.

Their chief was fired, but he escaped prosecution, since he was not directly involved in this scandal, but he had neglected.

According to the Domestic Inspection Service, which has carried out the investigations, the five controllers have favored Kosovo citizens to travel from Albania to Schengen countries with falsified documents.

The abovementioned persons have returned from the EU and all controllers have let them cross, although they were aware that their visas were falsified.

The police did not make public the quantity of the bribe that the controllers received for allowing the Kosovo citizens to cross the border without visa.
