Hundreds of Orthodox Christians gathered at the Tirana Cathedral in a mass led by the Archbishop of Albania, Anastas Janulatos.
“Our Christ must liberate us from any visible or hiding form of arrogance, from any kind of egocentrism, in all of its shapes, and let us live through the modesty of our soul, following his steps”, Anastas said.
The Albanian Muslim Community leader, Skender Brucaj, made a special wish: “It is also a great event for Muslims too. Jesus Christ, or Isa, as we Muslims call it, is part of our religion too. A Muslim is not complete if he doesn’t trust to prophet Isa”, he said.
The President of Albania, Bujar Nishani, released a special speech: “I want to express the highest gratitude to the Albanian Autocephalous Orthodox Church and Archbishop Anastas for the unity message he is giving us”.
Many political leaders paid special visits today.
