For December 25th, the highest celebration for Christians, the day when
the son of God is born, thousands of catholic devotees gathered in
midnight at Tirana’s Saint Paul cathedral.
The holy mass was held by Father Rrok Mirdita, the Archibishop of the Metropolis of the Diochesis Tirana-Durres, who wishes all the catholic devotees for more peace and love.
The orthodox Archibishop of Tirana, Durres and all Albania, Anastas Janullatos, wished all the Orthodox devotees for Christmas.
Saint Paul’s cathedral was overpopulated by devotees today. People stayed in queues outside for the ritual, which praying and lighting a candle. Christmas is the celebration when Christians pray for more peace and love throughout the world.
The catholics of Shkodra welcomed Chrismas with great joy, as ebery year. The ceremony started at 22:30, with the mass held in the city’s cathedral, with hundreds of devotees participating in the usual religious ritual.
Archibishop Angelo Masafra gave a message against blood feuds and appealed for reconciliation and pardon.
Meanwhile, in Elbasan, without giving any explanation, churches have not opened the doors as every year for thousands of devotees who challenged the cold weather and lit candles outside.
