China, strategic interest in Albania

China has increased its attention for investing in Albania.
The Senior Vice Premier of the State Council of
the People’s Republic of China, Zhang Gaoli, is attending a two-day
visit in Tirana, accompanied by five Ministers and 50 company directors.
In the meeting with Prime Minister Rama, the Chinese delegation underlined that the position of Albania in the region is strategic, and they see it necessary to cooperate economically and encourage private investments.
China has several initiatives in the region which include Albania, such as “One Belt, One Road”, which aims to revive the economic belt of the Silk Road. This platform could be used to increase the economic relations between both countries.
While China has huge investments in Albania, Prime Minister Rama underlined that our country expects these investments to be a referring point to welcome even more in the future.
The Senior Vice Premir of China met with President Bujar Nishani, who valued the China’s role in the international arena, in support of peace and security on a global and regional level.
President Nishani said that this role will extend its positive effects in Western Balkan too, especially as regards the independence of Kosovo.
