The new Chief of Prison Police, Enrik Sulejmani, has stayed only a few
days on duty. This Thursday he handed over a resignation letter to the
General Chief of Prisons, Artur Zoto.
The cause for this resignation was the mentioning of his name by some media outlets about an investigation held against time when when he was Chief of the Rinas Police. Sulejmani says that none of the charges is based on real facts.
Sulejmani adds that the case in which his name has been unjustly mentioned was treated by the Court of First Instance, and a verdict has been given on July 8th 2013, when the Court ruled and found him not guilty.
The Prosecution made an appeal at the Court of Appeal, and the Court rejected it. The former Prison Police Chief closed his declaration by saying that the resignation comes with the only goal to not damage the image of his institution, and that he is convinced that the situation is politically motivated.
