The Chief of the Albanian State Police, Artan Didi, declared that the
investigation group is looking for the evidence that would uncover why
the seven suspects, now known as “the dynamite gang”, placed a bomb at
Bashkim Tahiri’s pharmacy and at the Muhamed Gjollesha street.
As for the profile of the arrested suspects, Didi mentioned their criminal history:
“Vladimir Gjuta, 35, born in Kukes and resident in Tiarna, was arrested for resisting with violence to the police. He is also a suspect for an explosive placed against AT in Durres, for a murder attempt in Kukes, and for a series of other crimes. Baftjar Bruka, 24, born in Kukes and resident of Tirana, was investigated in 2013 for “attempted murder in cooperation” and illegal arm possession, which was suspended by the Court”, Didi declared.
As fpr the five others, the Court of Serious crimes has given the arrest measure over a series of charges, including the terrorist act. Didi said that due to the investigation secrecy their name was not distributed to law enforcement agencies, and that is why Bruka was able to leave the country.
The police is still investigating another explosion that took place in Tirana, against the Chief of Police, Alfred Numani.
“After these criminal acts, the measures we have taken in Tirana have created a safer environment and have prevented other rimes. This plan is on even today, and we are convinced that those who are responsible will be brought to justice”, Didi underlined.
