Chief of Civilian Emergencies: “No risk of floods after snow precipitations”

The Chief of Civilian Emergencies, Shemsi Premci, says that despite the
recent snow precipitations, the weather seems stable throughout the
country, except for 16 villages that are still blocked.

“There are 16 villages with 15 to 50 families which can be assisted with food and other aid through a single helicopter route”, Premci said.

All other roads are open, although many need vehicles to have tire chains installed.

The Head of the Civilian emergencies has criticized road maintenance firms several times. He says that the situation with them has improved.

“I think critics were constructive. We should not fear critics. We don’t have blocked roads, although we had snow precipitations up to 40 centimeters in some areas. I am glad that these companies, which have the obligation to maintain roads for 12 months a year, are understanding that this period of the year has more intensive work than all other months combined”, he said.

But could there be floods?

“We don’t expect a sudden melting of snow. So, there will be no floods”, Premci said.
