Chemical weapons, Koka: No decision taken yet

The Minister of Environment, Lefter koka, declared that every government
decision regarding the Syrian chemical weapons will only be for the
benefit of the Albanian citizens.

According to Koka, time has demanded that this issue should not be politicized. He underlined the fact that although the issue has been used in maximum by the media, there is no decision from the government on this matter. Everything, according to him, will be made transparent and discussed in Parliament.

“I would want your understanding. Our analysts and all the media have written about this issue much before the government took any action. The Albanian government is as responsible as every other citizen. Everyone talks about the damage that our country and our children’s future could suffer. I guarantee you that the future of the Albanian politicians is in Albania. We have been elected by our Albanian citizens and our decisions will be for a safe future of Albania. We are in a phase when the Prime Minister has held only one phone conversation with the United States State Department, and we still don’t know if these are chemical weapons or chemical materials, how can they be treated and what damage could they cause. This is a matter that will be discussed in government and parliament and I’d like to not have it politicized”, Koka declared.
