“The most dangerous substances will be removed from Syria by the end of
2013. More than 60% of the empty bombs and weapons have been destroyed”.
This is the decision of the UN OPCW in Hague. According to the plan, the chemical weapons will be transported outside the Syrian territory to guarantee that this process will be made fast and efficiently, not later than June 30th 2014.
The General Director of the OPCW, Ahmet ymzymcy, valued the plan and said that it guarantees a clear framework and establishes the foundations that need to be followed by the Syrian government”.
The next phase, and the most difficult one, is finalizing it within the deadline. This requires a safe environment for the verification and transport of the chemical weapons.
“Constant financial aids and support for this undertaking remain very important”.
