The Minister of Energy, Damian Gjiknur, has revoked 20 mining permits
for the superposition of permits in the Bulqize chrome Mines, Theken,
Bater and Krasta.
The Minister says that by avoiding superpositions, they avoid conflicts between the firms and increase the security for their workers.
“These permits have turned into a source of conflicts. The law gave us the authorization to clean all superpositioned permits, by ending this problematic phenomenon”, Gjiknuri declared.
In parallel to this decision, the Ministry of Energy has decided to revoke dozens of other permits that have not paid for the environmental rehabilitation, causing a huge damage to the state budget.
“There are 47 revoked licenses for not paying the financial guarantees. This means that we have cleaned the fictive permits that do not contribute with the state budget”, Gjiknuri underlined.
This decision for revoking the license to fictive permits, to those with legal problems or that do not contribute the budget, has halved the number of active mines from 1200 to 600.
